Special Tasting Series

American Made

The American contribution to wine science and technology is no doubt a remarkable contribution to quality winemaking that emerged in the 20th century. New standards helped boost production worldwide, and enabled calculations to be made and poor vintages spared. Yet, there are inspiring American producers who, while abiding by advantages of modern winemaking, credit a credo – a personal philosophy, even – that keeps intervention and manipulation in the cellar (and vineyards!) to a minimum.

In the American Made tasting series (each Thursday in November), we celebrate and give due credit to these winemakers. Each Thursday, we’ll delve into wines that go against the grain, produced at a scale that does not undermine their mission of quality and individual expression. These are wines with a story that, in many cases, hail from single vineyards, previously abandoned sites, and are often family-owned and farmed.

All wines are 10% off during the tasting unless otherwise discounted. Wines featured tonight can be found below.

Massican Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Margerum Sybarite Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Donkey & Goat Roussanne 2011

Hammer Merlot 2009
