Carpineti Capolemole 2009… Carpineti’s organic estate, farmed with the assistance of his son, is one hour outside Rome. His “Capolemole” is produced of Bellone, a native variety of Lazio, and perhaps sharing DNA with Malvasia. Plinius called it the "fantastic grape" while others have dubbed it not so fantastically. This white wine crafted of organic Bellone shows a creamy, stone-fruit quality. Organic
Bourgueil Bel Air 2009… 100% Cabernet Franc, a natural producer who makes amazing wine for the price. This entry level wine has so much complexity for under $15. A great bottle!
Matin Calme Mano A Mano 2009… A husband and wife team making great natural wines from 80 year old vines in the town of Belesta in the Roussillion Pyrenees Orientales. A 5 Acre domaine that is farmed totally organically. This wine is a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Carignan, 10% Syrah and it is stunningly good complex dark fruited red wine. Organic

Cantina Ericina Catarratto 2010
Cantina Ericina Grillo 2010… Grillo (also known as Riddu, meaning cricket) is one ofmany native Sicilian varieties leading a white wine revolution on the island. A traditional player used to produce Marsala, its characteristic aromatic elements include lime, jasmine, and lemongrass. Cantina Ericina’s Grillo emits these qualities, showing minerality – and a somewhat saline profile from proximity to the sea – along with a creamy, gentle texture. Curious about Italian whites? Want to drink in something individual, and respect Sicilian traditions? We think the Cantina Ericina does it well, offering value and a sense of place. The estate is in the process of becoming certified organic.

Lambrusco Opera Amibile 2002… Famed Tuscany winemaker Luca d’Attoma consults for the Ca’ Montanari—Opera ’02, truthfully the sexiest Lambrusco. The wine is just slightly off-dry and pairs wonderfully with air-cured meats, sharp cheeses and fresh fruit. It’s the type of wine that makes you say ”Damn the Italians really have it figured out.” Ca' Montanari opened in 2002, starting with just 5 hectares of land. The vineyards have been completely farmed using bio-dynamic principles since 2005. Organic
Muschelkalk, Pinot Blanc, Weissburgunder S 2009, Dr. Wehrheim 2009… Dr. Wehrheim is a third generation producer from the German Pfalz region. The family owned estate have small vineyard holdings of approximately 14 acres from which they produce mainly classically dry wines. The focus is on producing traditional grape varieties. The wine is named after the Muschelkalk soil formation, a 200 million year old limestone/fossilized shell deposit similar to the Kimmeridgean fault of Chablis and Champagne. The 2009 Weissburgunder Spätlese has a nose pf almond and marzipan. The wine is full-bodied and dense with a smoky nutty structure, perfectly balanced with staunch minerality and good acidity.
Monteraponi Chianti Classico 2008… Monteraponi Chianti Classico is blended from 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo grapes; it is an elegant wine with a traditional style, its scents are bound to ripe intact red fruits, which are well combined with a balanced structure, smooth tannins and a limited acidity. Domaine des Deux Anes Corbieres Premier Pas 2009… Premier Pas is made from mostly Carignan with a little Grenache. It is fermented in stainless steel. No sulfites are added to this wine. This was the first wine the couple bottled, hence the name “first step.” It is fresh, ripe, and easy to enjoy young, particularly with figs and local cheeses. Makes a great burger wine, too. Organic
Ondenc Plageoles 2010… The exceptional wines crafted at Plageoles represent some of the finest wines being made in Gaillac today. Bernard Plageoles is continuing the work of his father Robert, an outspoken advocate for natural wines with a centuries old approach to winemaking. Pale yellow color with reflections of hay. The nose is full of white fruits & pears. Freshness & bright acidity make this a lovely spring wine. Organic
Haut Levigne Duras Blanc 2010… Château Haut Lavigne was created by Nadia Lusseau in ’02 when she took over 8.5 hectares of vineyard in the Cotes de Duras AOC. Nadia’s traditional winemaking approach preserves the quality of the fruit in her vineyards, and the complexity of the terrior found around her vines is in the wine. She has been farming organically since ’05 and is working toward certification. Organic
