To take a sip of a Castarede Armagnac is to sip Armagnac’s history. Founded in 1832, the house is the oldest business still operating in the region. Now in its sixth generation, the Castarede family, under the auspices of Florence, runs the firm and maintains “eco-museum” cellars, dedicated to preserving their original 19th century spirit The estate and its cellars sit on the Baise River at Pont-de-Bordes, in the Lot-et-Garonne department. Armagnac Castarede makes available vintage and non-vintage Armagnacs distilled primarily between 1900-2000 from throughout the Bas Armagnac. The Armagnacs are wood-aged in 400 liter oak casks in the Castarede cellars.
