Italian Wine - Campania

Wine region in southwest Italy whose best vineyards lie in the hills below the Apennine mountain ridge northeast and east of Naples. Altitude moderates latitude in this hot climate. Wine production is increasingly successful here with the very recent resurgence of indigenous grape varieties such as Falanghina, Piedirosso, Casavecchia, Pallagrello Nero and Pallagrello Bianco.
