Light gold color. Alluring aromas of citrus zest and lime blossom are underscored with notes of lemon thyme. Fresh
flavors of Comice pear and Honeycrisp apple are followed by a driving minerality on the mid-palate and a lingering
finish derived from the vibrant acidity that is unique to the extreme Sonoma Coast appellation.
2012 Vintage Notes:
The 2012 vintage commenced extraordinarily warm with no significant precipitation until the third week of January. The
latter part of winter and early spring received abundant moisture, delaying budbreak in the Sonoma Coast until the end of
March. After a substantial rainfall during Memorial Day weekend, the conditions stabilized and flowering occurred in
early June under near perfect weather. The heart of the growing season was marked by periods of warm temperatures
alternating with thick fog patterns throughout most of the appellation, allowing for a slow and even ripening of the
clusters. Harvest began in early September and continued through the first half of October under ideal conditions.
The Sonoma Coast’s rocky, well-drained terrain and direct proximity to the cool Pacific Ocean allow us to grow and
produce Chardonnay with fresh, bright fruit flavors, complex minerality and brilliant acidity. Our Sonoma Coast
Chardonnay is sourced from some of the finest family owned vineyards within the extreme Sonoma Coast appellation
including Flowers’ Camp Meeting Ridge Vineyard. The grapes are harvested in the early morning hours to ensure the
fruit arrives at the winery cool and ready for whole cluster pressing. Once at the crushpad, the clusters are carefully
hand-sorted before being gently pressed.
