Comfortably combining notes of honey with those of candied lemons and creamy, slightly toasted oak, this medium-full-bodied offering turns out to be both tighter in feel and leaner in fruit than its aromas suggest. Still, as with the wines above, it has the depth to open up over time, and if not as bold as some, it will serve quite well with a platter full of fresh shucked bivalves

Well done in a subtle, delicate style, with a creamy edge to the ripe pear and melon flavors, showing a nice touch of spicy, toasty oak. Drink now. 6,902 cases made.-JL

The 2012 Chardonnay Russian River is a stylish, Chablisean-styled Chardonnay with minimal oak, attractive tangerine, nectarine and lemon blossom notes, medium body and wet rock minerality in the background. This beautifully pure Chardonnay is best drunk over the next several years.
