Pronounced ‘ka-wah-row’, our name is taken from the gorge and river of the same name which is synonymous with Central Otago’s gold mining history.
The vineyard achieved full organic certification before our first vintage and now have 15 hectares of vines. We care for the land and you, our customers by being 100% Bio Gro Certified Organic, since 1996.
As a pioneering vineyard, our Reserve Pinot noir is hand picked from the original establishment block, the oldest vines in this sub region. Our Reserve Pinot Noir has been awarded a gold medal wine for 7 consecutive vintages.
The wines are made by Dean Shaw at the Central Otago Wine Company. A self-proclaimed minimal interventionist winemaker, he shares our philosophy of crafting single vineyard wines that express the emerging terroir.
More than anything else our wines are made to be enjoyed. We have fun making them and hope that you will have fun drinking them.
