La Vieille Ferme Rouge 2011

750ML
Sku: 005748

Tasting notes
Deep cherry red with a nose of ripe fruit, this wine is rich and spicy. Red fruit (blackcurrant and blackberry), leads to a fresh finish. An easy-drinking wine for burgers, pizza or on its own.

Rating
2009: 87 Points - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate: "The 2009 La Vieille Ferme Cotes du Ventoux red, which, like the white is aged totally in tank, is composed of 50% Grenache and the rest other grapes such as Carignan, Cinsault, and Syrah. It offers copious aromas of cherry fruit intermixed with peppery, spicy garrigue notes. A surprisingly flavorful, easygoing red, it provides tremendous relief to the beleaguered consumer looking for good quality at the $10 price point. "

2009: 87 Points - Josh Raynolds, Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellars: "Bright ruby. Lively red fruits and spices on the nose and in the mouth. Light-bodied and a bit jammy but shows good energy and clarity. Finishes clean and brisk, with lingering bitterness and a touch of cracked pepper. Given its production level and price, this wine's quality is most impressive. It's also available pretty much everywhere."

Technical notes
Bright red in the glass, this wine shows raspberry and floral characters on the nose. The palate it medium bodied. It shows strawberry, creamy vanilla and a subtle spice characters.
