The vineyards of Bodegas Nekeas, nestled in the rolling green hills and gentle slopes of the Valdizarbe valley, seem out of place with the bustling, vibrant nearby city of Pamplona.
Ms. Concha Vecino, the most highly acclaimed woman winemaker in Spain, has created a superb wine by making a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Tempranillo.
In terms of the wine a touch of leather and sweet spices on the nose draw your attention to the deep garnet color. On the palate you will find bright flavors of blackberries and currants followed by hints of chocolate and licorice which soften the well developed tannins on the long elegant finish.
