The diversity of aspects and microclimates on the Veramonte estate allow Merlot to mature fully and naturally in a region that might otherwise be too cool for producing red varietals featuring ripe fruit flavors.
Our Merlot vineyards enjoy extended hang-time during harvest, intensifying its gorgeous purple color and bold fruit flavors.

|Wine maker notes
|Merlot from the Veramonte estate in Chile’s cool Casablanca Valley gets seriously long hang-time which intensifies both the gorgeous purple color and intensity on the palate. This cool climate wine is one of Chile’s only true Merlots, which accounts for its structure and purity of fruit. Many of Chile’s vineyards are planted to a mixture of Merlot and Carmenère, an old Bordeaux varietal that was originally believed to be Merlot in Chile.
Appearance: Dark ruby red.
Aroma: Rich blackberry and cherry aromas with black pepper and tobacco, hints of eucalyptus and mint, and a subtle underlay of oak.
Tasting Notes: Rich and generous berry flavors with intensity and concentration.
