Laurent-Perrier Champagne Cuvee Rose Brut

Laurent-Perrier Champagne Cuvee Rose Brut

750ML
Sku: 011479

Tasting notes
A fairly deep salmon-pink color enhanced by a long stream of fine bubbles.
Nose: Clear and wonderfully fresh, reminiscent of red and black fruit like raspberries, black cherries and blackcurrants.
Taste: The first impression is the freshness of the fruit. The sensation is rounded and supple and remains on the palate for a considerable time.

Review
The best selling rose Champagne in the world, Laurent-Perrier's Cuvee Rose Brut is one of the few roses still made by the saignee method. To emphasize this traditional technique, the Champagne is elegantly showcased in an embossed bottle that is a reproduction of those used in the late 17th century.
Deep orange-pink color, with a fine bead, the first impression on the palate is that of fresh fruit, followed by a full-bodied yet elegant mouthfeel.
100% Pinot Noir.
All grapes in the blend come exclusively from ten 100%-rated Grand Cru vineyards.
Serve between 45F and 50F.

Showcasing the versatility of Pinot Noir, Laurent-Perrier Cuvee Rose Brut can be paired with a wide variety of dishes including salmon, chicken, lamb or duck. It also makes a wonderfully refreshing aperitif and works well with lightly matured cheeses.

A big, beefy rosé. Very Pinot Noir-like, with leaf, cherry and earth notes matched to a firm, muscular structure. Has warmth and personality, with a lingering finish. Begs for herb-roasted chicken. Drink now through 2006. –BS

With its bottle shape dating from the late 16th century, this is a traditionally made rosé, using color from macerating Pinot Noir grapes. It is full, ripe, flavored with strawberries and other sweet red fruits, with a layer of dryness. The wine finishes fresh and crisp. Score: 90. —Roger Voss, December 01, 2005.

Wine maker notes
Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier is unique in terms of its history, the way it is made, and the design of its bottle. Prior to 1968, making non-vintage rosé champagne was virtually unthinkable. It was in the midst of a cultural revolution that the visionary Bernard de Nonancourt gave it its credentials. This daring wine combines real structure with freshness and a soft, vinous character.
In its elegant bottle inspired by the times of French King Henri IV, Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier soon made a name for itself worldwide.

Other text
Composition: Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier is made using nearly a dozen crus, most of them grands crus. They mainly derive from the South and North parts of the Montagne de Reims - including the celebrated Côte de Bouzy - with a preference for crus from Ambonnay, Bouzy, Louvois, the south part of Tours-sur-Marne, Verzenay, Verzy and the north part of Mailly. Grape supplies are the guarantee of Cuvée Rosé's undeniable quality and consistency of style. To succeed with such exacting requirements, Laurent-Perrier relies on the privileged relationships it has built up with grape growers over many years. The quality of its supplies means Laurent-Perrier can be extremely selective. The best vines and the best crus are chosen so that, in each harvest, only grapes of the quality required to make such a rosé wine are selected. In parallel, special plots in the vineyards owned by Laurent-Perrier itself have been adapted for growing Pinot Noir grapes using special methods.

Food pairing
Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Brut makes a delicious aperitif. It is also very good with delicatessen food, poultry or fresh and lightly matured cheeses. An original association is with red fruit desserts or lightly spiced Thai dishes.
