Darkly colored with aromas of dark cherry, plum, all spice, cinnamon, and leather with an underlying earthy touch of forest floor. A soft, fruit-forward entry combines with balanced acidity and smooth tannins to coat the mouth with a multitude of flavors. Layers of red and black fruit segue into a finish accented by vanilla notes from barrel aging in new American oak. Very approachable, and very easy to like…a real winner!
|2009: 87 Points - Steve Heimoff, Wine Enthusiast: "Does what California does so well with Cabernet, ripening the fruit and developing delicious berry and cherry flavors. Oak, of course, brings the usual sweetly smoked toast and vanilla notes to this softly tannic wine. Drink it now. "
