The Non-Vintage Rutherglen Muscat is amber-colored with an alluring perfume of apricot and dried fruits, caramel, and toffee. Full-bodied (17.5% alcohol), sweet, and complex, it is also a great value.
Dark tawny in color, with exotic spice, coffee, walnut and pecan grace notes to the rich caramel and cherry flavors, which linger on the sweet, generous finish. Drink now. 3,000 cases made.

Wine maker notes
"This classification displays a greater level of richness and complexity, produced through the blending of selected parcels of wine, often matured in various sizes of oak cask to impart the distinctive dry ‘rancio’ characters produced from maturation in seasoned wood. The Muscats of Rutherglen are considered the "World’s Richest Wines" and bear a mark of authenticity – an oval logotype with a stylised "R" – which is only applied to the wines drawn from the great Muscat vineyards of the region. The "Muscat of Rutherglen" trademark assures the highest quality of wine exclusively sourced from the Rutherglen Wine Region. "Campbell’s ‘house style’ is typically complex and elegant, capturing a rich purity of raisin fruit flavours." ---Colin Campbell

Technical notes

Tokay is one of Rutherglen”s best-kept secrets-sweet, luscious, complex and elegant. Each vintage the grapes are left on the vines (20 to 25 years old) to ripen fully until raisined and laden with natural sugar. The resulting wine is blended with previous vintages using a modified Solera method to produce a consistent house style. The final blend contains portions of wine from some vintages more than 30 years old. The deep brilliant, burnished gold Tokay displays toffee, honey and tea leaf characters with mellowed oak on the finish. This unctuous dessert wine was developed by pioneer winemakers who discovered that Muscat produces a wonderful wine when exposed to Rutherglen”s long dry growing season. Each season the grapes are picked from vines (20 to 25 years old) after prolonged ripening to ensure maximum sugar levels and raisin character. The wine is then blended with previous vintages, some more than 30 years old, in the Soleras to maintain a consistent house style. The resulting bright amber Muscat displays intense, fresh raisin fruit flavors with a luscious, mouth-filling finish.

Food pairing
Blended for optimum flavour and balance at the time of bottling, this wine will not improve with further cellaring and should ideally be enjoyed soon after opening. Excellent chilled as an aperitif or with strong cheeses, plum pudding or after dinner with freshly brewed coffee.
