Sku: 013419

Grapes are harvested from select vineyards located in Marlborough’s Wairau and Waihopai valleys. The different soil and microclimatic conditions of each of these vineyards provides a range of unique characteristics that capture the delicious fruit intensity for which Marlborough is renowned.

Tasting notes
Bright and lively, with a chocolate edge to the black cherry and currant fruit, all of it lingering gently on the fine-grained finish.

Review
Santé October 2010 Pinot Noir 2008 - Sante ------------------------------------------ Aromas of red cherry, cinnamon, mocha, and toast with flavors of cherry vanilla and pomegranate; medium bodied, warm, and smooth with notes of ginger spice on the finish. ------------------------------------------ Parker’s Wine Bargains 2010 Pinot Noir - A Best Value, Parker’s Wine Bargains ------------------------------------------ This has great complexity on the nose with semblances of Pommard; cranberry and raspberry leaf are followed by a taut, red cherry and cranberry palate that has a surfeit of tension and poise. Top-class. ------------------------------------------ eRobertParker.com September 2009 92 Points Pinot Noir 2007 - 92 Points, eRobertParker.com ------------------------------------------ The 2007 Pinot Noir is impressive: a fresh, crisp, slightly leafy nose redolent of a Pommard -- very fresh with scents of cranberry and raspberry leaf. The palate does not disappoint with vibrant acidity , that almost transclucent quality that defines great Pinot Noir: taut, fresh with a touch of red cherry and cranberry towards the finish. An absolute delight! Bravo! Drink now - 2013. ------------------------------------------ The Wine Buzz May/June 2007 Recommended ------------------------------------------ Deep color and plumy aroma with nuances of black licorice, cherries and cloves; good tannins and deep, concentrated flavor of black cherries with hints of prumes, anise and tobacco; Bing cherry skin finish. ------------------------------------------ Wine Report May 1, 2007 88 ------------------------------------------ Aromas of roasted cherry and fresh thyme will make this a crowd pleaser from the start, while smooth, fruity, fresh plums and black cherry will keep them coming back for more. This will match with almost anything red and meaty. ------------------------------------------ Wine Report May 1, 2007 88 ------------------------------------------ This lovely Pinot is smooth and fresh with aromatics of fresh cherries and blackberry. The palate echoes the nose with the balanced addition of smooth cocoa and concentrated tannins. Great for a summer night with roasted leg of lamb. ------------------------------------------

Wine maker notes
Pre- and post-ferment maceration are combined with partial barrel fermentation to achieve a complexity that complements our naturally exuberant fruit. Most of this wine was aged in French oak barriques and was filtered (but not stabilized) prior to bottling.

Technical notes
14% abv
