Handley Pinot Noir Anderson Valley 2007

Handley Pinot Noir Anderson Valley 2007

750ML
Sku: 014020

Tasting notes
Blending multiple clones and vineyards has resulted in a wine that shows notes of cherry, violets, lavender, blueberry and chocolate that are balanced by tannins and a long silky finish.

Wine maker notes
Winemaker vintage notes. ”The 2007 growing season started with spring rains followed by moderate temperatures throughout the summer. Anderson Valley’s cool nights and warm days helped create great balance and intensity in the grapes. Fruit from inland vineyards near Boonville provided good texture, balancing the cooler “Deep End” fruit. A late season warm spell made sure the grapes achieved optimal ripeness while retaining bright Pinot Noir flavors.”

Technical notes
Each year, this wine is crafted to accurately reflect vintage and terroir. To that end, fruit is sourced from 12 different vineyards in two appellations. After de-stemming and light crushing, the grapes were cold soaked for 2-3 days. To boost the wine’s natural structure and flavors, Handley uses several different yeasts to ferment the wine and barrels from a variety of coopers.

Food pairing
The mild acidity of this Pinot Noir makes it an excellent accompaniment to goat or triple creme cheeses. It also pairs well with, duck, or salmon dishes.
