The screwcapped 2013 Maria Gomes also has 5% Sercialinho added in. Sourced from 35-year-old vines, it is unoaked and comes in at just 12.5% alcohol. If I can sum this review up quickly--at this price point, this is a steal. Crisp, clean and focused, this may not have a lot of depth, but it does have some tension, nice texture and a juicy, flavorful finish. It evolves nicely in the glass and becomes more expressive with air and warmth, too. This sure seems like a fair bit of wine for the money. It may well hold longer than I think, but it is not designed to do that, so take that in stages. It sure is terrific now.
