Lovely nose, fresh and lively, but with praline notes to suggest a little richness too. Broad, expansive palate, buoyed up by a gently foaming and very persistent mousse. Lovely, biting acidity. Again just little notes of bread and nuts in the background; predominantly this is a freshly flavored, herbal white fruit style. Straightforward, yet quite delicious.

Moncuit’s NV (2009) Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Delos is a little bit more pointed and focused than the Hugues de Coulmet, befitting of its Mesnil origins. White flowers, citrus and crushed rocks are woven together nicely as this energetic, vibrant wine shows off its gorgeous, finely sculpted personality. Readers who like the brighter style of Blanc de Blancs will find quite a bit to admire here. Dosage was 8 grams per liter. Disgorged April 2012. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. ”
