Orientation: South-facing hillside vineyards Soil: It has a good percentage of limestone found in subsoils. Technically located in Vallee de la Marne, but its terroir and exposition are more like Montagne de Reims. Rating
Rating: 90 The NV Brut Grand Cru Tradition impresses for its precise, chiseled expression of fruit. A vein of minerality runs through the wine, adding freshness and length to an overall sense of classiness. This isn't a blockbuster, but rather a refined, elegant wine well worth seeking out. The Tradition is 90% Pinot Noir (predominantly Petit Pinot d- Ay) and 10% Chardonnay. This release is based on 2005, with a dash of 2004 and 2006. The wine was vinified in stainless steel and bottled with 6 grams of dosage. This is Lot# 10.01, disgorged Summer, 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014. Publication: IWC Rating: 88 Publication: Antonio Galloni Rating: 92 In the NV Brut Grand Cru Tradition readers will find a big, powerful wine bursting with character and personality. The intensity and pure depth of Ay come through in this deep, expressive Champagne. An intensely saline, mineral-infused finish adds the last touch of complexity. The NV Grand Cru Tradition is 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay bottled with 6 grams of dosage. This release is based on the 2008 vintage, with the addition of 30% reserve wines from 2007 and 2006. Disgorged April 2012.
