Legaris Crianza is crafted with Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) from the estate vineyards surrounding the winery. Legaris is an intense, cherry-red color with violets highlights. Red fruit character stands out among vibrant aromas, along with hints of Vanilla and Coconut from 12 months of French and American Oak. On the palate Legaris Crianza offers generous flavor, firm structure and good length.

The 2009 Legaris Crianza is mainly sourced from Curiel de Duero and San Martin de Rubiales, with around 40% sourced from various parcels around Ribera del Duero. Blended with 4% Cabernet Sauvignon and raised in 25% new French and American oak, it has fine delineation on the nose with a hint of crushed violet complementing the dark cherry and briary aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with light but ripe tannins. It might lack some substance, but it has commendable focus and refinement toward the pretty, feminine finish. Bravo. Drink now-2016. ”

This polished red offers a core of black cherry and plum, framed by chocolate and coffee notes, supported by well-integrated tannins. Smooth and harmonious. Drink now through 2016.—T.M.
