A pale ruby color belies the true nature of the 2014 La Solitude Cotes du Rhone. On the nose, it shows lots of red fruit (cherry, raspberry) and a touch of menthol. In the mouth, it shows much darker fruit flavors such as black cherry, black raspberry and black plum. You can also pick up some herbal notes; piney, like rosemary. ItŐs medium- to full-bodied, with some ripe tannin and good acidity. It has nice complexity now, and will improve over time.
