Review
Now that summer has finally arrived, the time is right for an outstanding White Burgundy that offers excellent flavor, refreshment, and good value.
Raphäel and Marylène Sallet grow Chardonnay from their estate vineyards, nestled in the town of Saône-et-Loire in Uchizy, north of the city of Mâcon. Uchizy’s east facing vineyards are typically warm, dry and sunny, giving solid, well-balanced wines with good ripeness and delicate perfume.
Vinified in stainless steel to preserve the varietal character, there is a fragrant bouquet of tropical fruits, citrus blossoms and wild flowers. In the mouth, the wine opens up with layers of fresh fruit and stony minerality that develops nicely with mouthwatering acidity on the lingering bright and refreshing finish.
Great as an aperitif or for summer sipping, the Les Maranches is a versatile white that can offer great compatibility to a wide range of food pairings, from seafood to salads to poultry to light cream sauces and soft cheeses.

The Les Maranches hails from Uchizy, one of 43 Villages of the Mâcon. This region in southern Burgundy is a bit warmer, sunnier, and drier than its northern counterparts. Wines from this region are often vinified in stainless, are meant for youthful drinking, and provide consumers with excellent value.
