Combines the depth and complexity of fine grappa and sherry with briny, Muscat-like aromas blended with toasted walnut and ripe mango. Exquisitely textured with ripe apricot giving way to a delicate smokiness and deeper salty flavors. Finishes strong and effortlessly with an underlying minerality.

The luscious Speyside bouquet offers layers of aromas that include smoke, wood, touches of palm oil, browned butter, vanilla bean and pork rind. The palate entry is rich, bittersweet, caramel-like and creamy; at the wonderful midpalate the taste turns sweeter, nuttier and more fudge-like. Finishes elegantly, yet very focused, and integrated. Delicious. P.P. (4/1/2008) 96-100

Wine maker notes
The Macallan Fine Oak is triple cask matured in a unique, complex combination of exceptional oak casks; 1. European oak casks seasoned with sherry impart a rich character with hints of dried fruits, spice and chocolate orange. 2. American oak casks seasoned with sherry deliver delicate hints of citrus lemon, coconut and toffee sweetness. 3. American oak casks seasoned with bourbon deliver floral aromas and sweet notes of vanilla and fresh fruits. This triple cask combination delivers an extraordinarily smooth, delicate yet complex Single Malt matured at The Macallan distillery for a minimum of 17 years.
