Chateau de la Maltroye Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Morgeot Vigne Blanche 2010

Chateau de la Maltroye has been practicing various aspects of biodynamic viticulture since1992 when Jean-Pierre Cournut took over the estate from his father. Chemical treatments of any kind have never been used. With a total 13 hectares of vineyard, Chateau de la Maltroye is privileged to possess the most extensive range of vineyards in Chassagne, including 10 premier cru vineyards. According to Jean-Pierre, “The interest in our wines resides in the terroir.”

Then there are two cuvées of Morgeots, one from the Vignes Blanches, the other from Feroutes. Both cuvées are in a richer style, but the two are never blended together, as Jean-Pierre believes each has its own distinct personality.

The 2005 Morgeots Vignes Blanches is medium yellow in color with a rich yet softly textured palate and good concentration. The wine bursts with intensity, with just a shading of oak that fills in the finish. Impressive minerality and good acidity with good weight and excellent typicity.
