2009 "This is an excellent example of a basic cool climate Syrah. It's well balanced, without a lot of fat. It still shows plenty of black plum fruit and black pepper spice. There's a hint of animal lurking in the background, but I wouldn't call in funky. It's a great wine for the price, and is a very versatile wine with food. I would happily serve it with any meat from chicken to beef. Lamb is a particularly good match. For those who care, it's organically grown."
