Grown on the classic pink Voges sandstone, the 2004 Riesling Wiebelsberg (nicknamed “La Dame”) leads with peach, lemon zest, acacia, and wood smoke, fills the mouth with lush, dense pit fruit, piquant nuts, citrus and a tactile sense of minerality you can strain through your teeth. Impressively concentrated in its finish as well, this strikes a fine balance between an austere sort of mineral density and rich, peachy fruit. ”

Wine maker notes
Located at the exit of the Andlau Valley. With a southeast, steep exposure. The soil of sandy, pink sandstone from the Vosges, well drained and able to warm up rapidly, in short, an ideal microclimate for the birth of a Grand Cru, where the mineral expression is represented in the Riesling. When young, it’s a rather floral wine (acacia and roses), with discrete fruit scent (citrus, ripe pears, peaches and mango). With time, it offers aromas of spice (cinnamon, nutmeg, orange) with a very pure and harmonious intensity.
