Fresh and taut, with a sharp edge of crisp tannins to the dark berry and floral flavors, lingering on the finish. Drink now through 2016. 13,700 cases made.-HS

Bright red. Dried cherry, licorice and woodsmoke on the pungent nose, with a peppery nuance adding lift. Chewy, slightly bitter redcurrant and cherry flavors unwind slowly, picking up a licorice quality and a hint of bitter chocolate. Shows a slightly tart character on the finish, with the cherry and licorice notes echoing. Let this one stretch out in the glass. 87+ Points

Wine maker notes
2011 vintage
While wrapped in a hint of spice, the aromas of this wine are dominated by bright red fruits like rhubarb, strawberry and cranberry. On the palate, it exhibits lithe fruitiness and lingering cherry and berry flavors. The wine is medium bodied with a silky texture and would be very versatile in pairing with many types of food.
