Luigi Bosca Malbec D.O.C. 2013

Luigi Bosca Malbec D.O.C. 2013

750ML     le Ends
Sku: 025438

The D.O.C "Lujan de Cuyo" was created in 1989 with the objective of protecting and regulating the Malbec variety which is native to this region. As it happens with the most demanding denominations in the world, wine with the certification DOC, Lujan De Cuyo must comply with strict protocol that begins at the vineyard and finishes when final product is bottled. All the grapes used for this Malbec come from the VISTALBA ESTATE. The wine shows an intense shade of violet, ripe cherry and plum aromas. It is spiced with traces of mocha and blackberries. It is delicately perfumed and has a long elegant sweetness.

Review
Good fullmedium red. Sexy, musky aromas of plum, coffee, truffle and nutty oak. Sweet, shapely and vinous, showing insidious intensity and cut to the flavors of currant, plum, tobacco, mint and underbrush. This rather suave wine relies as much on its acidity as on its tannins for structure. The classically dry finish features sneaky length.

Fresh, dark red. Showing more obvious chocolaty oak on the nose than the Mendoza Malbec, along with aromas of redcurrant, licorice and herbs. Very suave, fine-grained and sweet, conveying lovely subtle depth to its redcurrant and spice flavors complicated by sexy mocha and coffee nuances. Finishes with suave, firm tannins and excellent length. Balanced from the outset, and less dominated by oak in the mouth than the Mendoza Malbec.
Decadently spiced, with intense dark chocolate and roasted plum flavors that feature notes of paprika. Black pepper accents show on the lush, mineral-filled finish. Needs time to open up. Best from 2017 through 2021. 3,800 cases imported. -KM Rated #81 in Wine Spectator’s 2015 Top 100

I enjoyed this wine at a local restaurant the other evening and it was another example of incredible values flowing from Argentina. Smooth with soft tanins and an elegant finish. Everyone at the table was amazed that such a great wine could be so affordable.
