The most concentrated, pure, ethereal and profound wine of the group and easily the best Pinot Noir in our memories, this bottling has the uncanny power to render the rest of its peers, and, indeed, Pinot Noirs everywhere, into pretenders. For days afterward, we would drink no Pinot because none could compare, and, even now, we sit here ready to go off with a bottle of Romanee-Conti and sit in a quiet, isolated place and contemplate its beauty for hours. Perhaps, our tasting compatriot was right after all. Experiencing Romanee-Conti is worthy of a ”monastic experience”. |
