Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley 2006

Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley 2006

750ML
Sku: 025583

Our 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon reflects not only the qualities of a classic vintage

Tasting notes
Exceptional weather during the 2005 harvest allowed grapes to develop ripeness and complex structure. Enjoy flavors of red currant, cherry, blackberry and blueberry with a hint of vanilla from oak aging. Round tannins balance and support this medium-bodied wine's ripe fruit. Beautiful now, this wine will continue to age gracefully for a decade or more. The 750mL should peak by 2018.

Rating
2005: 89 Points - Josh Raynolds, Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellars: "Deep red. Red- and blackcurrant, cherry and menthol on the nose, with subtle vanilla, cola and tobacco notes adding complexity. Tightly wound red berry and bitter cherry flavors are framed by dusty tannins, picking up anise and herb notes on the back end. Understated and brisk, with good finishing clarity and mineral cut."

Wine maker notes
Vineyard blocks were harvested and fermented separately, spending 12–21 days in tank depending on the particular character of the site. Malolactic fermentation occurred before the lots were re-tasted to determine which exuded the sensory characteristics to merit inclusion in our barrel blend lots. Only the finest lots wereassembled for the final blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 12 months in French (67%) and American (33%) oak barrels, of which 33% were new, before two years of bottle age.
