The Neyen de Apalta winery is the perfect blend of tradition and modernity. It was founded by the Rojas family in 2002 on the site of one of the area's pioneering wineries that dates back to the late 19th century.
The Carmenère and Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in 1890 now produce excellent fruit due to their deep roots and natural balance, allowing us to reap the benefits that come with the richness and elegance of the passage of time.
With the support and experience of our consultants, Patrick Valette and Eduardo Silva, we look for a unique wine that fuses the soul of this land, the valley, and the restored winery. In the native Mapudungun language, Neyen means " spirit," and it is the spirit of Apalta that we are dedicated to capturing in each vintage.

Redolent of dried currant and sandalwood, this is a vibrant, gutsy red, featuring of deep vein of cocoa powder. Exhibits an elegant texture, with a finish that lingers with fig and olive notes. Drink now through 2019. 2,500 cases made.-KM
Wine Advocate 91 points (Dec 2012)
The 2010 Neyen shows more purity on the nose compared to the 2009, with blackberry, blueberry, flinty notes and a touch of smoke. It has fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins over a dense core of earthy, tobacco-infused black fruit. The finish shows more delineation and refinement than the 2009. There is a satisfying, sophisticated touch to this 2010. Drink 2014-2022.
|Wine maker notes
|We seek to bring out the full potential of the ancient vines at Neyen. The history, intensity and complexity of their fruit are woven into an elegant, balanced and textural blend of our winery’s emblematic varieties: Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Carmenere, the principal component of the blend, is complemented by the potency of Cabernet Sauvignon; together they allow us to capture the “Spirit of Apalta” in every bottle we make and to offer the finest wine possible.
