Clos de Los Siete By Michel Rolland Mendoza 2012

Clos de Los Siete By Michel Rolland Mendoza 2012

Sku: 029962

Behind the distinct style of fruit (plum, black cherry, sweet black and blue berry) are fine and silky tannins discretely hidden, which make it an immense sophisticated, strong and delicate wine of pleasure.

Michel Rolland, unavoidable oenologist coming from the greatest castles in Bordeaux owns together with 6 of his friends the Clos de Los Siete, a domain of more than 800 ha. Situed in the south of Mendoza, Argentina, the grape varieties (malbec, merlot and cabernet-sauvignon) benefit from a small yield (30 hl/ha) and an ideal climate (hot during the day and cold during the night).

Robert Parker: "Clos de Los Siete could be described as the blend of blends. It has plenty of spicy notes, black pepper, nutmeg and clove, smoke, dry hay and straw over a core of black and red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, with sleek tannins, good acidity and good length. This is a superbly-crafted wine at a good price."

Wine Advocate 89 points (Apr 2014)
The 2012 Clos de los Siete, a blend of 50% Malbec, and the rest Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, is a complex blend of wines contributed by all wineries in 2012, except for Flechas de los Andes. It has some restrained notes with plenty of spices and ripe black fruit a little blurry. The palate is medium-bodied, with sleek tannins, moderate acidity and length. The different vintages are quite similar, maintaining a very high level, but today I’d give the edge to the 2011. 960,000 bottles were produced. Drink 2014-2020.

Technical notes
Malbec 57% - Merlot 18% - Cabernet Sauvignon 14% - Syrah 9%
