Petalos has always been one of my favorite feel-good wines. Whenever I feel the need for a pick-me-upper, I reach out for a bottle of Petalos.
Petalos is alluring from many angles: first, nice layers of berries hit your tongue, then spices and herbs coat the rest of your palate. Overall, it is effortless as it is delightful!
I had the pleasure to taste the 2013 vintage with my colleague Bart Hopkins and we both agreed the Mencia varietal shines through to provide you with a superb drinking experience.

|Some haveinvoked the term “Maestro of Mencia” for Jose Palacios. We couldn’t agree more. Year after year, this prolific though thoughtful estate turns out the stunning Petalos. Always elegant, delivering incredible value for under $20. Organic
|2010: 91 Points - Josh Raynolds, Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellars: "Dark ruby. Ripe red- and blackcurrant aromas are complicated by anise, cola and sexy oak spices. Soft dark berry preserve flavors gain minerality and firmness with air. Zesty cherry skin and mineral notes carry through a long, gently tannic finish."
