Giancarlo Ceci is the eight generation of his family's Apulian estate. The climate is Mediterranean, and Giancarlo's intention is to preserve the biodiversity and precious balance of his ecosystem. When he converted to organic viticulture in 1988, he saw a significant upturn in the quality of his wines.
The 2007 Castel del Monte Rosso is a savory blend of 60% Uva di Troia, 20% Montepulciano and 20% Aglianico. The Uva di Troia gives a gorgeous bouquet of violets, with an underlying earthy fruitiness. Soft in the mouth, with good tannins on the finish. A hearty red for any occassion.
