Fattoria Casaloste exclusively employs organic farming methods, as certified by its membership in the ICEA (Istituto per la Certificazione Etica ed Ambientale), an organic farming certification guild. But all this is not enough. Wine, and especially Chianti Classico, is essentially alive and, like all living things, needs love to survive. The aim of founder Giovanni d'Orsi is to produce the finest, most sublime Chianti, and this he bases his life’s work on. Fattoria Casaloste is his only property and the place where he and his family call home. Wine-making is his passion and only profession. Giovanni d'Orsi will always be a wine-maker!
The supreme expression of Chianti Classico, Don VincEnzo balances the power of the Sangiovese grape with the refined elegance of Chianti Classico. Made from the top selection of 100% single vineyard Sangiovese, the wine displays a very bright character with a dark, ruby color. The soft, elegant bouquet exhales lovely aromas of cacao, tobacco, and roasted coffee, followed by a wine of immense complexity, nicely supported by well balanced tannins and lower than expected acidity. Great by itself or with fresh pasta and red meats.
