Tasting notes
Colour: Ruby red Nose: Full, complex, intense bouquet redolent of violet and berries Palate: In the mouth it is enveloping, elegant, and persistent. The background has distinct notes of plum, bitter cherry, strawberry jam, black pepper

Rating
 Wine Spectator 92 points (Jul 17 2013)
Fine-tuned and powerful, this unfolds with layers of macerated wild cherry, cassis, ash, wild herb and spice. Complex, compact and long, delivering a minerally aftertaste. Best from 2014 through 2024.—N.W.

Other text
In the two thousand year history of the Aglianico grape, Taurasi, the wine of the ‘vigne opime’ of old Taurasia mentioned by Livy, has a special place. This wine has seen an astonishing series of vintages which have charmed with their style and personality. Radici, which was produced for the first time in 1986, is the result of painstaking research into exposure, chemical and physical characteristics of terroir, and topography. Its strong personality, dense structure, and aromatic concentration are the primary features of this prestigious symbol of Irpinian viticulture.

Food pairing
A fine accompaniment to roast meats and larger game (deer, wild boar, etc.), spiced dishes or truffle, and mature cheese.
