|2009: 90 Points - Jay Miller, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The purple-colored 2009 Prima is made up of 90% Tinta de Toro and 10% Garnacha aged for 12 months in seasoned French oak prior to bottling without filtration. Earthy minerals, espresso, truffle, licorice, and blackberry aromas lead to a ripe, dense, sweetly-fruited, layered wine lacking only complexity. Give it 1-2 years to fill out and drink it through 2021. "
2009: 90 Points - Josh Raynolds, Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellars: "Deep ruby. Ripe cherry and candied plum on the fragrant nose. Rich, pliant flavors of cherry compote and mocha are firmed by gentle tannins and given lift by zesty acidity. Finishes with good intensity and lingering sweet spices. Shows the ripeness of the vintage to good effect."
2009: 90 Points - Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast: "Spunky on the nose, with sweetness defined by animal cracker cookies, vanilla wafer, leather and candied berry fruit. Feels tight and slightly acidic, with herbal berry, tobacco and chocolate flavors. Solid and grabby late, with lasting tang from the acidity."
