Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five 2010

Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five 2010

Sku: 034057

The vintage we thought would never end allowed us to pick small amounts of fruit from within each vineyard block as ideal ripeness was slowly achieved. The wine offers aromas of warm black fruit, cedar, chocolate, and dried herbs, followed by rich, juicy flavors of blackberry, dark chocolate, and tobacco, with ripe, supple tannins and a nice long finish.

Released March 1, 2009

2007 Vintage: 93 Points - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate: " The beautiful 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five (7,000-8,000 cases produced) exhibits a dense purple color as well as a gorgeous perfume of boysenberries, black currants, subtle toast and spice and a slight floral component. The wine is medium to full-bodied with good acidity, a voluptuous texture and impressive purity and length. Drink this stunning Cabernet over the next 15 years. "

Wine Advocate 95 points (Oct 2013)
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five (99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot) exhibits aromas of blueberries, black currants, incense and delicate floral notes. Following the stunning perfume, this full-bodied, elegant, super-rich wine reveals great definition and purity of black currants and black raspberries gentle wrapped in subtle spicy oak. This classic Cabernet is the quintessential model for both Stags Leap and Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. The tannins are sweet enough that it can be drunk now, but it should evolve easily for two decades.
Intense and concentrated, this red is typically rustic, tilting toward dark berry and cedar, with gripping, gutsy tannins that should appeal to those who like to chew on their wines. Best from 2014 through 2022.óJ.L.
