Tormaresca Neprica Puglia IGT 2011

Tormaresca's Neprica is ruby red with some violet tones. The aromas are of red berries and black cherries. The Neprica is fairly lush, with soft tannins and moderate acidity.

Fredric Koeppel, winner of the "Best Wine Reviews" from the American Wine Blog Awards found that the "Black currant, black raspberry and plum flavors are infused with a grind of fresh black pepper" A blogger calling himself The Wine Curmudgeon said the 2008 Neprica is "Cheap, it's well-made, it's food friendly, and you can drink it without a PhD in winespeak." Deb Harkness of Palate Press found "Spicy notes of licorice and black tea" along with the "bright berry and cherry aromas and flavors." A blog called TableWine said the 2008 Neprica was "packed with plenty of tart cherry and plum flavors. A persistent spicy finish. A WOW wine."
