Zind-Humbrecht Vin de Table Francais Zind 2007

Zind-Humbrecht Vin de Table Francais Zind 2007

750ML
Sku: 034515

The Humbrecht family has been winegrowers in Alsace since 1620 but the Domaine came by its current name when Leonard Humbrecht married Genevieve Zind in 1959. Located in the heart of the Herrenweg vineyard, Leonard significantly expanded the family’s holdings to include an enviable collection of Grand Cru and other high quality vineyards. The Domaine is currently managed by Leonard’s son, Olivier Humbrecht, the only Alsacian winemaker to attain M.W. status. A staunch advocate for biodynamic farming, Olivier tailors every aspect of viticulture and winemaking based on terroir. Whether a single vineyard or a blend, place and vintage are clearly and unmistakably expressed in each wine.

Review
Zind-humbrecht Vin De Table Francais Zind 2007 is a Chardonnay produced by the Zind-Humbrecht winery.
It has an excellent rating from wine expert Robert Parker. Notes: The 2007 Zind represents - as it has in the last several vintages - a 70-30 blend of Chardonnay and Auxerrois entirely from the Clos Windsbuhl, the Auxerrois and true Pinot Blanc from the Herrenweg now going into a separate blend. Clover, orange blossom, lime, fresh apple, and hazelnut on the nose lead to a silken-textured mouthful of apple accented by citrus oils, toasted hazelnut, and scallop-like saline-sweet mineral savor, with subtle spice from cask and reinforcement of creaminess from the malo-lactic transformation. For all of its richness, this is refreshing and (at only 12.6% alcohol) buoyant. It can be enjoyed over the next 6-8 years. I've been skeptical about some vintages of this cuvee, but 2007 seems ideally suited to what Humbrecht is trying to achieve, plus his knack for achieving it is no doubt enhanced by experience. - Robert Parker - Zind-humbrecht Vin De Table Francais Zind 2007 750ml -
