Back in 1786, Benedetto Carpano created Antica Formula, thus starting the production of an entire new category of alcoholic drinks: the vermouth.
Carpano Antica Formula is the Italian vermouth par excellence, actually the first vermouth ever, made from white wine, Piedmont’s muscatel and the rich wines from southern Italy. Its taste and aroma come from carefully selected brewed mountain herbs. Its vanilla bouquet is matched by notes of spices and dried fruit such as star anise, orange peel and dates.
Perfect to drink cold as an aperitif or after a meal, Carpano Antica Formula can also be used as an ingredient in refined cocktails, adding a special touch in new versions of great classics such as the renowned Negroni or the Americano. Among the latest creations there is the ”Prince of Wales” cocktail, one of the most popular drinks in the prestigious Rivoli lounge bar at London’s Ritz hotel.
Carpano Antica Formula is produced in limited amounts and sold in valuable blown-glass bottles. Topped by a cork, the bottled come protected in refined packages. The label is a replica of the 1786 original one.

Rich, fruity and enticing, this sweet vermouth is warmed with notes of fig and dried cherries, and just faint hints of spiced gingerbread and bitter orange peel. Drinkable solo as an aperitif, or use it as a cocktail-mixing favorite.

Deep and almost brooding with toasted vanilla bean, dried lavender, brown sugar crusted orange peel, and mint. Round and carries a touch of sweetness on the palate. Very elegant finish.
