Made of 50% Syrah, 37% Garnacha and 13% Alicante Bouchet (similar to Grenache), this delicious blend was tasted and loved by our staff. Salia is a Spanish red which is suave and silky with red and purple fruit flavors, and complexities of red roses, spice and licorice. It has very good length and smooth, chewy tannins.
|2007 Vintage 88 Points - Josh Raynolds, Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellars: "A blend of syrah, garnacha tintorera and garnacha tinta) Bright purple. Musky cherry and dark berry aromas are complicated by cola, cracked pepper and tobacco. A bit clenched right now, offering primary blackberry and bitter cherry flavors and a chewy texture. Finishes with good spicy lift and gently sweet persistence. This wine, which right now needs some vigorous aeration but will be accessible earlier than Finca Sandoval or TNS, is a blend of 50% syrah, 38% garnacha tintorera (alicante bouschet) and 12% garnacha tinta (grenache)."
