Dominique Lafon, undeniably one of the superstars of white Burgundy, was the first Côte d’Or vigneron to expand his holdings into the Mâconnais region. Always hungry for new challenges, he purchased 14 hectares of vines in 1999. He believes strongly in the potential of the region, but feels that too few grape growers have attempted to realize just how great that potential is. Thus, in the very same spirit that he runs his renowned Meursault property, Dominique utilizes biodynamic viticulture to produce some of the most complex, vibrant and impressive wines the region has ever seen. Mâcon Milly-Lamartine comes from a unique parcel made of clay and chalk with an eastern facing slope located in the town of Milly-Lamartine. The medium age of the vines is 25 years old, and all viticulture follows strict organic and biodynamic methods.
