Cameron Pinot Noir Arley's Leap 2011

Sku: 041617

Wine Advocate 90 points (Oct 2013)
Destined to represent around 300 cases - as compared with last year’s less than 50! - and tasted in pieces from barrel (including a bit that will come from Abbey Ridge Pommard vines), the Cameron 2011 Pinot Noir Arley’s Leap displays sour cherry and red currant with lemon rind, fresh ginger, bitter herbs as well as horseradish-like earthiness and bite that add to an invigorating, bright, and zesty performance as much white as red wine-like. Woodsy, fungal and mineral suggestions lend intrigue and a minimal sense of tannin conduces to considerable textural refinement even amid obstreperous acids, just as the wine’s alcoholic levity doesn’t preclude a surprising sense of stuffing. A streak of salinity serves for welcome saliva-inducement, and the final assemblage here should be worth following though at least 2022.
