|For two consecutive years, in the Holiday issues of Tastings, from the Beverage Testing Institute, Corner Creek Reserve Bourbon Whiskey (8 years old, 88 proof), was awarded a 90 Rating, one of the highest ratings given. Reviews for 2001 and 2002 have again garnered the rating of "Exceptional."
In fact, Corner Creek was the only Bourbon priced well below $30 to receive a score of 90 or above. Most of the top Bourbons were $40 and higher, even up to $150. Corner Creek, however, is priced in the mid-twenty-dollar range, making it an incredible value.
Here is what the Beverage Testing Institute said about Corner Creek:
"Deep amber hue. Hedonistic sweet wood, smoke and charred barrel aromas. A very smooth attack leads to a medium-bodied palate. Refined, supple, flavorful finish. Rounded and elegant, this is a very refined style."
In a separate tasting, Robert Plotkin, nationally syndicated columnist, Bar Media wrote:
"Whether you're talking about a Rolls Royce or Bruno Magli shoes, there is something singularly captivating about a handmade product. Particularly in today's marketplace where robotics and microchips reign supreme, a handmade, skillfully crafted product is something to hold in esteem."
"One such product is Corner Creek Reserve Bourbon, an eight-year-old, 88 proof, handcrafted bourbon made at the Corner Creek Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. Spirits enthusiasts across the board will appreciate Corner Creek's sheer elegance. It is masterfully constructed with a flawlessly smooth body and complex, pleasing palate. Its nose is loaded with intriguing nuances and the finish is long and warming."
"Produced in limited quantity, Corner Creek Reserve Bourbon is an unqualified masterpiece. If you can find it, grab it."
