Henry's Drive Vignerons was founded in 1992 by Kim Longbottom and her late husband Mark in Padthaway, South Australia. The winemaking team is headed by Renae Hirsch with the support of Kim Jackson as consulting winemaker. Renae brings over a decade of experience, having held winemaking positions in France, Germany, the United States and Australia. 500 acres are planted with Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Verdelho on soils that range from limestone over sandy ridges to rich, red loam.

Tasting notes
A ripe and fleshy red displaying cherry and brambly fruit, mixed with Asian spices, dried herbs and hints of fennel. Juicy notes of ripe blackcurrant mix with characteristic leafy and forest floor Cabernet elements on the long and finely textured finish.

Technical notes
57% Shiraz/43% Cab Sauvignon). The vines are between 10-13 years old, and are grown in sandy loam over limestone on the hillside and red loamy soil over limestone on the flat. Fermented on its skins for 5-7 days with pump overs four times/day, the wine was pressed and fermented for 15-16 months in oak hogsheads and barriques (60% American and 40% French; 60% neutral and 40% new). Sourced from eight different vineyards – six of Shiraz and two for the Cabernet, each parcel was vinified separately and blended just before bottling.
