| 2007: 91(+?) Points - Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellars: "Medium ruby-red. Brooding aromas of black cherry, menthol, licorice and pepper, with musky bitter chocolate and game notes emerging with air. Dense and juicy on the palate, showing less fruit and sweetness today than the Old Lakeville Road bottling but plenty of body. There's a lightly saline quality here, but this too is much fresher than the 2006 version, thanks to an edge of acidity and brisk pepper and spice notes. This firmly built syrah is a bit youthfully tough today and calls for a couple years of patience." |
