I Perazzi was created to be unlike most other Morellino's which see little or no time in oak. The blend of I Perazzi is more expressive and better demonstrates the potential of the terroir. It also hints towards what the top wine from the estate called Aragone. I Perazzi is named after the fruit trees that grow on the estate and bear a pear like fruit, which is depicted on the label.
The just-bottled 2007 Morellino di Scansano I Perazzi is fresh, fragrant and vinous. This is an especially ripe, open vintage for this wine perfect for near-term enjoyment. Some of the verve of the superb 2006 is missing, but the 2007 compensates with a personality that is a touch more approachable.
