Chateau Belian Giraud is a 65 acre estate, situated just South of Sauveterre in the middle of the Entre-Deux-Mers region.
The current owner Cédric Landié, took over from his father three years ago. Because most of Landié’s reds are made for the French market and are consequently lighter-styled, the vineyard is planted with 60% Merlot, 30% cabernet Sauvignon and 10 % Cabernet Franc. However, as this bottling is exported specifically to the US, the blend is 80 % Merlot and 20 % Cabernet Sauvignon. This results in more structure albeit with less acidity; surprisingly thick-styled and fleshy for a wine of such humble origins.
