Review

Cesca Vicent is a blend of 40% Grenache, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 10% Syrah. Unlike other Priorats that are full-bodied and very concentrated, Cesca Vicent is the opposite. Aromatics of dark fruit blend with spice box, earth and preserve. A seamless mineral touch adds depth to the wine and the minerality wraps around all corners of your palate. A very enticing wine to be taken very seriously.

2009: 88 (?) Points - Josh Raynolds, Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellars: " Bright red. Musky red berries and dried cherry on the nose, enlivened by a spicy nuance. Tight and racy but slightly dry, offering brisk redcurrant and cherry flavors and a dusty mineral note. Opens up a bit with air and finishes with tangy cherry skin bite and lingering spiciness. This benefits from decanting."

2009: 85 Points - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cesce Vicent is a blend of 40% Garnacha, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 10% Syrah in the sub-zone of Mas d’en Corral. It is aged for six months in two-year-old oak barrels (15% American). It has a straightforward, ripe, mocha-scented bouquet with raspberry, Asian spices and a touch of hot bricks. The palate is chewy on the entry with slightly aggressive tannins, while the finish is a little hard and gritty. Drink now-2017. "
