For many wine lovers Riesling from France`s Alsace region is the benchmark by which all Rieslings are measured. Considered the best land for raising Riesling, our Alsace Riesling is a classic Haut-Rhin, high-elevation wine in the French style -- no candy-coating or greasy kid stuff -- this is a dry Riesling with plenty of perfume and floral notes to delight the nose and infused with tons of tang, spices, herbal and citrus notes to tantalize the tongue.

Abarbanel Riesling Alsace Mevushal 1999
"Round and expressive, showing peach, apple and mineral flavors on a firm backbone of acidity. It`s dry and tight on the finish, but should go well with food. Kosher.
Best from 2002 through 2006."

| Wine maker notes |
| The 1999 harvest in Alsace was the first conducted under the new stringent maximum vine yield regulations by varietal type as set forth by the Alsacian Wine Council -- this means careful pruning to eliminate heavy grape yields to engender greater fruit concentration in those grapes that literally "make the cut."
The climate in Alsace nice and dry with temperate summers and cold winters which afford the vines an extended hibernation period. This is the only kosher and Mevushal Riesling from Alsace. Under O-U supervision. The grapes for this wine come from the mountain of Mombourg, as does its sister wine, Gewurztraminer.

| Food pairing |
| This wine should be served chilled and is best when paired the Asian and spicy cuisines (Spanish, Cajun, etc.) or it is one of the few white wines that will hold its own against steaks, roasts and chops. |
